" Every race I compete in, I race to win.

A FEW WORDS about SCOTT
2009 marks the twelfth year of a successful and accomplished career in motorsport for Scott Pye. Scotts fascination and indeed passion for all things motorised developed on the Sprint Kart tracks of Adelaide, South Australia at the tender age of seven, it was on his home circuits that passion and dreams collided, where Scott began to map his future and begin working towards his ultimate goal of Formula One.
In order to pursue his goals Scott raced throughout the country collecting more than 200 podium finishes including six State Championships along the way, cementing his place as one of Australias most formidable karting competitors. It was at this time that he began to look to the future to decide what the most suitable category to bring his Formula One dream to fruition would be, the choice was an obvious one; Australias premier single-seater championship, Formula Ford.
Towards the conclusion of 2006 Scott took his first step into what would prove to be a category which would not only encourage both his professional and personal development but reinforce what he had long known; that he could become a driver to be revered and reckoned with on and off the circuit. Scott prides himself on his passion for motorsport and the professionalism that it is due, as a result it was imperative that he signed with a team that would share his philosophy in order to secure success and a long and prosperous relationship. Borland Racing Developments had long been the team to beat; their reputation and expertise initially drew Scotts attention when looking for a team, coupled with their relationship with the CAMS Rising Star Program worked only to confirm Scotts desire to race and win for the team.
After applying for the CAMS Rising Star Program in 2006, Scott was invited to test a CAMS/Borland Racing Developments Formula Ford at Adelaides Mallala Raceway, it was during this period that Scott was notified that his application was successful, he was invited to join the highly respected Scholarship Program for the 2007 Formula Ford season a State level funded driver. The CAMS Rising Star Program is a scholarship that would offer mentoring and financial assistance for promising young Australian drivers who possessed the desire to reach the ultimate goal in open-wheeler racing; Formula One. Both the program and the team presented an opportunity unlike any other; they would assist Scott in drawing on his dream and making it a reality. A strong association was formed, one which would last for more than three years on state, national and international levels.
2007 started with promise with a win at the opening round in NSW, as the rookie driver Scotts initial trepidation was replaced with confidence, this confidence and success continued for much of the season with numerous top three finishes, however, as the season progressed budget constraints prevented him from completing the NSW Formula Ford Series. Looking long-term Scott focussed on the future, taking the experience he gathered from his 2007 season he moved toward finding an adequate budget which would enable him to develop his skills and race as a full-time National competitor for 2008.
In 2008 Scott was selected for the second consecutive year as a member of the CAMS Rising Star team, however this time as a nationally funded driver. The 2008 season was one for development, a year in which Scott would work tirelessly to better understand the car, the team and his ability as a driver. In this, his rookie year as a National driver saw Scott finish sixth in the Championship, a respectable and successful season but one in which Scott knew he could improve on. In 2009 he would return to the National Series as a competitor fighting to secure his first Championship win. After seven rounds Scott is currently placed third in the Championship, a standing he intends on improving at the eighth and final round in QLD in late October. The 2009 Champion has already been crowned, Scott now aims for what he hopes to be an achievable second place.
The start of 2009 saw Scotts initiation into international motorsport when he was presented with the opportunity to race in New Zealand with the Toyota Racing Series, New Zealands premier open-wheeler category. For Scott this wings and slicks form of racing was alluring, it was unlike anything he had ever driven and he undertook the task as a learning opportunity that would increase his experience and further develop his craft. Scott took to the category with ease, he scored five podium finishes from seven rounds with five pole positions, five race wins and successfully secured Rookie of the Year. After such a successful stint overseas and in such a foreign category Scotts ambition was never stronger upon his return to Australia, wings and slicks racing is where his future lies, it is where Scott feels most comfortable and performs with the most confidence and success.
The next step that the young Australian endeavours to embark and conquer is a logical one Europe. After intense research Scott has yet to decide on his chosen category, Europe presents so many renowned, recognised and respected categories but it is essential that Scotts selection is one in which will enable him to continue to persue what is most important to him; achieving his Formula One dream.

2009 Toyota Racing Series - New Zealand
NEW ZEALAND Toyota Racing Series 2009
Late 2008 I was asked to compete in New Zealand in a championship called Toyota Racing Series for European Technique. The Toyota Racing Series in New Zealands premier wings and slicks category so it would be a lot different to what I am used to in Australain Formula Ford.
First off this was going to be a one off round to see how I go. If I went well enough I may be given the opportunity to finish off the championship.
The first round held at Ruapuna Raceway in Christchurch was a huge success. I took two poles and a race win. Unfortunately I crashed out in one of the heats which without doubt cost me from also taking the round win.
I then came back to Australia to finish off the Australian Formula Ford Championship. After this was completed I was once again invited back to New Zealand but this time our sights were set on finishing the championship and doing so very strongly. I took the next round win in dominating fashion winning two from three and again taking two poles.
Throughout the rest of the series I took numerous race wins and pole positions. As a result I finished third in the Toyota Racing Series, second in the International part of the championship (3 rounds in the middle of the TRS series) and also won the TRS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR title.
I have taken a lot of experience and knowledge from this series. I look forward to going back to have another shot at the title in 2010.
None of this would have been possible without the help and support provided to me by my team European Technique
